This year, The Blackpool Tower Projections will run exclusively between 3 September and 3 January and will once again transform The Blackpool Tower into a sea of light, colour and sound.
From festive-filled stories to sci-fi projections that will catapult you to another world. these digital-mapped shows are a mesmerising treat for the eyes. All the projections are yet to be revealed for 2021, but here are a few you can expect to see:
Astral Dreams - 3 September, 2021 - 3 January, 2022
Astral Dreams is a stunning laser-mapped show, transforming The Blackpool Tower with five high-powered lasers.
The colourful projection has been created by Blackpool-born international designer Jack Irving, who is best known for creating wildly theatrical outfits for Lady Gaga. Local producer, George Cornes, has also composed a musical accompaniment to support the impressive laser show.
The show is a journey through light and sound, and a depiction of the abstract visions we have when we dream. The Astral Dreams project has brought together a group of artistic-minded people to construct a laser show unlike anything Blackpool has ever seen before - with original musical scores and tailored laser programming to give a unique experience to those who attend.

This incredible show was created by Czech-based digital art collective The Macula, an award-winning company formed in 2007. The team have dazzled audiences throughout Europe with their shows, gaining great acclaim in the UK with Luminous Flux to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Liverpool’s Liver Building.
Chasing Stars - 3 September - 19 December 2021
Ross Ashton and Karen Monid of The Projection Studio created three of our LightPool projection shows, the newest of which is Chasing Stars, based on the pioneering work of European Space Agency (ESA).
The eight-minute galactic tour has been designed to entertain and inspire the next generation of astronauts and engineers.
In collaboration with Dr. Nick Lister of the Lawrence House Astronomy & Space Science Centre, the team visited Rossall School in Fleetwood, asking them to imagine what it would be like to live in space. Their ideas and drawing have been incorporated into the show.
