Christmas is going to be tougher than ever for those in need as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. With the increase in unemployment and reduction in working hours, families are having to make the unfortunate and difficult decision this Christmas to choose between food/heating and gifts.
Each year, Rock FM launch Mission Christmas to help Santa deliver presents for all disadvantaged young people through the kind donations of Rock FM listeners all round Lancashire.
This year, the radio station have excitingly added an extra element of joy. They’ve teamed up with us here at VisitBlackpool and Blackpool Council to launch the Big Tower Light Up, inviting listeners to sponsor one of The Blackpool Tower’s many bulbs. Even better, if you take part in sponsoring a bulb, you will be in with a chance to get your name, or your loved ones name, through the Tower heart! Donations start from just £5. Alternatively, listeners can donate a wrapped or unwrapped gift at drop-off points across the area.
By taking part in this amazing opportunity to light up The Blackpool Tower and raise funds for their Mission Christmas campaign, you will be helping Rock FM deliver gifts to children who otherwise may wake up on Christmas morning to nothing.
